PSR Reindeer Round-Up New Officials Training

FRIENDSHIP TOURNAMENT:  The Reindeer Roundup is a NEW officials training event.  We use this event to train brand new adults who wish to become officials in the Puget Sound Region.

The atmosphere at this event is meant to assist teams with figuring out 'game day' stuff (i.e. how to rotate, how to substitute, how to libero swap, timing of serving, etc).  In general, this event should be used to dust off the cobwebs...it might even be the very first time an athlete has ever taken the court with an organized team.  We expect delays and encourage coaches to step on the court to help out their athletes.

Matching team uniforms are not required for this event.  All we ask is for each athlete to wear a tshirt with a number.  Duplicate numbers are discouraged, but not forbidden.

Players may participate with a tryout membership.  Coaches must have a full USAV membership and have completed all safety requirements.

SE MMS rosters are not required for this event.  Coaches must bring with them a TYPED document (word, excel, pdf) which contains each participants full name, date of birth, and USAV member number (including coaches).  Coaches will be expected to turn the document in to the site host.

The goal of this event is for clubs to ensure their athletes know how to complete the score sheet and can serve as R2s when needed.

Each participant will receive a holiday themed participation gift from the Region staff.

If you have questions, please feel free to contact the region office.

Enhanced Training (Optional)

An observation is an enhancement activity and it DOES NOT replace the mandatory online training requirement.

Club directors interested, shall request a list of PSR Certified Officials from officialschair@psrvb.org

Club Hosted In-house Training (optional)

Club directors may be interested in conducting in-house training to enhance what the coaches & players have learned from the mandatory online training.

USAV has created modules to assist you.  These modules are available through the USAV Academy "The Whole Shebang".   To access these materials; log into your SE account and use the Content Library within the USAV Academy.

In-house enhancement activities DO NOT replace the mandatory online training requirement.
