The Western Open is scheduled to be the first National Qualifier of the Puget Sound Region Beach Season and will take place April 22/23 at Willis Tucker Park in Snohomish.  In addition to offering bids for the Junior Beach Tour National Championship, the winners of this year's Western Open will also qualify to attend the USA Beach HP A1 National Team Selection Camp held on May 20-21 in Manhattan Beach, CA.

Kent Juniors and Skagit Island Volleyball Academy became the first two teams from the Puget Sound Region to earn bids to a USA Volleyball Girls National Championship event in 2017! 

Kent Juniors won the National Division Bid to the U18 Girls Junior National Championship and Skagit Island Volleyball Academy earned the American Division bid to the same event.  Both teams will compete in Dallas, TX April 21-23.

The Power League competition is heating up!  This weekend (Feb. 11-12) is the second point scoring weekend of the season.  Each point scoring date is worth a little more than the previous, so this week's performance can help teams move even higher up the rankings!  Check out the Power League Manual to learn more about how the scoring system works.

Every year in the U16 and U18 divisions the top teams from the Puget Sound and Columbia Empire Region Power League Tournaments get together to compete for the unofficial title of top dog in the Pacific Northwest.  This weekend the first Platinum Power League of the 2017 season will take place in Centralia.

Humility is a hallmark of excellence and Sudden Impact 16 Thunder displayed both at the Matt Hartner Memorial Tournament on MLK Weekend in Eugene, OR.  They finished on top of the 128 team field and laid early season claim to being the best U16 team in the Pacific Northwest, but that had little to do with what they went there for.

Gresham High School, Mt. Hood Community College and the University of Oregon were all influenced by Matt Hartner the volleyball coach.  Now an entire Pacific Northwest is being inspired and motivated by his memory.  Matt Hartner made the transition from volleyball coach to volleyball legacy on August 13, 2014 when he passed away in his sleep at age 30.
