PSR Board of Directors Nominee
I have passion and experience helping youth and have been playing volleyball for more than 30 years. At North Thurston High School in Olympia, I was a middle blocker and have played recreational volleyball in Seattle, California and Olympia. I also coached my daughter’s YMCA grade school volleyball teams for 10 seasons. My girls are now teenagers and have played on competitive travel volleyball teams for the past three years in Olympia and Tacoma. I hold a bachelors in Communication and a Masters in Public Administration from the University of Washington. Currently, I am an Organizational Performance Advisor for the state of Washington. Last year, I led my agency in a study of office culture with a respect, diversity, equity, and inclusion lens. In addition, I have facilitated trainings and meetings in: effective communication, work performance discussions, personal development, strategic planning, process improvement and organization change management for the past 10 years. I also have been a Girl Scout troop leader for the past eight years. I would like to be considered for the elected-board position because I care about kids, love the sport of volleyball and want to help bring volleyball to girls of color and ALL boys in Washington state. I believe my background and education in public relations, public administration, project management, organization change management and strategic planning will bring a diverse point of view to the board.
