PSR Board of Directors Nominee
Hello – I am Richard Scott and I am no stranger to volleyball – it is what I do. I am currently the Director of Volleyball for Baden Sports and responsible for all National and Global operations and growth of the sport for Baden. I am looking to become a key addition to Puget Sound Region Volleyball and would be honored to serve you as a Region Board Member. I bring a unique perspective to the table and confident that I would add fresh insight, value, ideas, energy, and passion to the region, with the end result being “what is best for the athletes, the clubs, and the overall culture of PSR Volleyball.” I travel the country working with and supporting all levels of the sport: players, coaches, clubs and directors, conferences, colleges of all levels (D1, D2, D3, NAIA, Community College), state high school associations, beach, boys volleyball, youth, national tournaments as a major sponsor, as well as work very closely with several USAV Regions and the AVCA. I see a lot and cannot wait to bring home some of the best practices in the sport from across the country and implement them into this region. I come with 29 Years of Management, Operations, Leadership, and Business Development experience. I also have 20 Years of recruiting, staffing, employee management and training backgrounds with 29 Years of hands-on start-up knowledge building, structuring, operating companies and operations from the ground up (23 years self-employed and 9 years in the corporate world). The analytical, organizational, communications, and strategic planning skillsets from my years in business plus my knowledge and passion of volleyball will be the perfect fit in bringing value to PSR volleyball. Married for 25 years with 2 girls who play volleyball year-round for club, beach, and high school organizations since they were both 9 years old. My oldest daughter Maddie is heading off to college this year on a scholarship to play volleyball, and my youngest Jocelyn is right behind her big sister. I see volleyball from all directions and believe that I would be a great asset to the board and the region and serve you all well! Key areas that drive me: relationships, trust, ethics, passion, discipline, drive, creativity, and energy, and I am also very humble. I hope you will find value in all I bring to the table and can earn your vote as your new Region Board Member starting this 2020-2021 season.
